Optional Included - Stone Harvesting Field Trip following workshop (depending on the weather)

STAND OUT in the field of massage therapists!  Learn to incorporate hot stones in your work - your clients will be yours forever.  For example:

-   Imagine as the hot stones relax your clients' muscles, your DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE becomes deeper without the pain.

-   With a SWEDISH / RELAXATION MASSAGE, your clients will "melt" into the table totally stress-free.

-   MYOFASCIAL RELEASE happens with ease, REIKI is enhanced, etc.

The stones become an extension of the therapist's hands allowing the therapist to administer a deeper massage without a great amount of pressure.  The penetrating heat from the stones melts away muscle tension and promotes total relaxation.  The stones do the intense work resulting in minimized or eliminated thumb and wrist stress. This is a fast-paced, condensed stone workshop in which stone care, local harvesting, handling and layouts will be covered.  With time permitting, the SIGNATURE STONE MASSAGE will be demonstrated.  This massage can be expanded to an hour or more.  After this workshop, you will be comfortably able to incorporate hot stone in any modality.

Students are to bring: a set of massage linens, a light-colored hand towel and a large bath towel.

Prerequisites: Graduate from or currently enrolled in a 500-hour massage program.

The relaxation that is created by facial massage is quite often overlooked in bodywork.  The effects of this work will relieve stress and tension held in face, neck, shoulders, and arms.  This will be another tool to add to your “tool box” which sets you apart and keeps your clients coming back.  This treatment may be combined with your bodywork.  Or, it may be expanded and done alone to introduce a reluctant client (fully clothed) to massage.  This course will cover facial “tricks" and massage techniques; such as, facial lymphatic drainage and acupressure facelift.

Please bring the following to this class: a one-quart bowl, massage linens, Jojoba, 2 small hand towels, standard pillow and your favorite facial products (cleanser, toner, moisturizer and mask).  Wear comfortable clothing.
